It's Only Growing Stranger

Believe it or not, I have gotten 5 more e-mail responses about my Rick Springfield review, and these things are coming from all over the place--California, Oregon, Kentucky, Arkansas, Atlanta...

I started to think that some friends were playing a practical joke, but the e-mail addresses are all over the map--and some are company e-mail addresses, which would be pretty tough to fake. Anyway, people somehow found this article (I'd love to find out how) and are in love with me for giving Rick the props he deserves. As I posted the original e-mail, I figure I may as well give you the rest as well so you can read in disbelief. I seriously can't believe I would get so much response from one thing, especially after years of reviews that garnered basically no response.

I guess Rick has the best fans in the world.

Sorry to dwell on Springfield. It makes me feel like JR and his obsession with Sufjan, but this is almost too much. And I couldn't upload the last e-mail. Ran out of space. Sorry...

Hi Daniel,

I promise you that your friends are not playing a joke on you. The RLS fans have an awesome present online. There are over 3000 of them. If someone see a review of Rick's work especially if it is as positive as yours was, it is posted in one of the many list serves devoted to Rick.

To clear up the mystery, Google was involved in leading us to you. Google has this great feature where it will email you every new website that mentions something. Well, I and others have every new website with "Rick Springfield" emailed to us. That is how we found you.

Thanks for the great review. Rick is such a wonderful live performer. I have seen his show more than a 100 times. People ask me how I could see the same show over and over, but it never is the same. Because of his crowd interaction, it is always different.

It is funny that you say that Rick has the best fans, because he says that too. We all love him not only because he is a talented and gifted singer/songwriter/musician, but because he is one of the nicest and caring guys you could meet. You should check out his website about the benefit concert he just did this past weekend. www.rickspringfield.com.

I had awesome seats (front and center) for the Rockford Concert and am shown like 40 times. I thought about giving you the minutes and seconds of my highlights from Rockford, but thought that was probably going over the top. LOL.

Thanks again for appreciating Rick Springfield and his fans.

Mary

BTW: I am from the upstate of SC. I would love Rick to play Chattanooga. That is would be a close show for me to attend.

You're totally wrong, but very kind to say so. Thanks again for spreading the good word about Rick. Take care. And I hope Santa brings you that record player!
